Liberty for California
A reminder that when politics becomes about power and personality instead of principle, liberty always loses — no matter who’s in charge.

After watching the national Libertarian Party convention conclude on Monday, how do you feel about the direction of the national LP?

Here are the response options readers can choose from:

• Energized and optimistic
You feel the party is moving in a stronger direction and representing libertarian values well.
• Cautiously hopeful
You saw some positive signs, but you’re waiting to see how things play out.
• Disappointed or frustrated
You feel the convention highlighted ongoing problems or missed opportunities.
• Concerned about the party’s identity
You worry the LP is drifting away from its core principles or becoming too factional.
• Indifferent or disengaged
You don’t feel the national party is relevant to your political decisions right now.
• None of the above
You have a different reaction you’d like to share.

Welcome to Bee Libertarian

Bee Libertarian exists for a very practical reason: we needed a website in order to authenticate email and reliably reach people. But once that door was open, it felt wrong not to step through it.

It’s heartbreaking to watch what is happening in America. Across human history, those who crave power have rarely made good leaders — and today, on both the left and the right, power-seeking dominates our politics. The results speak for themselves.

In theory, this moment should be tailor-made for libertarians. In practice, libertarians tend to want to be left alone — and that means we haven’t always been great at explaining ourselves, organizing, or making our case to the broader public. Bee Libertarian is an attempt to help change that.

What is Bee Libertarian?

Bee Libertarian is a weekly email and commentary project focused on liberty-first analysis of California and national politics. We don’t chase outrage or personalities. We focus on individual liberty, consent, property rights, and voluntary exchange — and we call out government overreach whether it comes from the left or the right.

Why independent matters

Bee Libertarian is independent by design — no talking points, no donor pressure, no need to defend bad ideas “because our side said it.” We encourage participation in the Libertarian Party, but this project exists to speak honestly, even when that’s uncomfortable.
